Four Oregon Speakers Take Linfield Honors Four Oregon students captured honors at Linfield college’s eigh teenth annual Northwest invita tional forensic tournament, under direction of Roy D. Mahaffey, pro fessor of speech at Linfield. Dorothy Orr, sophcmore in busi ness administration, won first place in the lower division women’s ora tory and second place in women’s after dinner speaking. Betty Mis ner, senior in liberal arts, took first honors in upper division women’s oratory. Warren Miller and Ralph Teters, comprising the men's var sity debate team, placed second with six wins and two defeats. USC won first place in the tour nament with eight straight wins. Washington and Utah tied for sec ond with five victories and two losses each. GREEK SAILORS ARRESTED ATHENS, Greece March 1. The resolu tions, accepted by a 182 vote majority, were: 1) Any nation ‘which is party to a dispute can bring the dispute before the in ternational court and the court’s decision be final and binding. 2) Remove the veto power of mem bers of the big five in any dis pute to which a member is invol ved directly. 3) After the period of military occupation is over oc cupied nations come under the jurisdiction of the United Nations. 4) Atomic bomb secret kept un til reliable world organization set up to handle it. 5) Every nation give necessary funds and power to UNESCO. 6) Approve United States loan to Britain and advo cate further reciprocal trade, treaties. UN on Social 7) Bring all social and economic organizations which deal with in ternational phases of control under the United Nations, including a world university. 8) All nations not self-governing, states affected by the war, be placed under the trusteeship council. 9) United States department of education take definite steps to educate the people in international affairs and principles of UN. In the preamble to the resolu UO Delts to Assist Whitman Chapter Delta Tau Delta, national social fraternity, will install its 75th chapter March 20 to 21 at Whit man college, with members from the chapters at Oregon, Washing ton, Idaho, and Oregon State col lege assisting. The new chapter will become the fifth national fraternity to be represented on the campus. Among dignitaries of the frat ernity who will visit Whitman col lege for the installation are Edwin L. Heminger, national field sec retary; and G. Herbert McCrack en, national president of E|elta Tau Delta. Women Announce Planning Retreat April 11 has been set as the I date of the YWCA retreat. Pres ident Bjorg Hansen announced that all old and new officers will attend and discuss spring terms program and policies. Work of winter term will be evaluated. Marcia Summers, conference chairman, is in charge of selecting the place of the retreat. She has said it will probably be at one of the Oregon beaches.
