Broadway gl Grid Policy Baffle Cools Buf More Action Looms Pros May Take Action Against Ed CHICAGO, Feb. 13 (UP)Jonas' H. Ingram, commissioner of the All-America football conference, said tonight that no disciplinary action is planned “at present" against Ed McKeever, Chicago Rocket coach whose recent “white paper" upset the Pacific coast con ference. Ingram said he probably would hear more about the affair tomor row when the first executive ses sion of the AAC annual meeting gets under way. The newly hired Rocket coach left his post at the University of San Francisco with a published parting shot against the Univer sity's use of ineligible football play ers who withheld information about their previous scholastic ex perience. He also charged that “something would have to be done” about the $70-$50-$40 salaries which had been paid the players. Anthony J. Morabito, a member of the conference executive board and principal owner of the San Francisco Forty-Niners, has said he will bring the matter before the club owners for possible censure of McKeever. Ingram has the power to expel anyone from the confer ence for conduct detrimental to the league. Fighting Front Quiet After Furious Feud San Francisco, Feb. 13--(UPl The University of San Francis co vs. Ed (TexI McKeever feud faded today just as quickly as it flared earlier in the week and all was quiet on the battle front as Don athletic officials prepared to mend the broken pieces of their grid policy. Following the two days of sen sational charges and counter charges on athletic subsidization and eligibility, officials on the USF campus today had little to say. Father Jerome Sullivan, ath letic moderator, yesterday wrote an open letter to McKeever charg ing the former USF coach, now head coach of the professional Chicago Rockets, with counseling five USF football players to “keep their past records quiet.” McKeever denied the charge* along with another one issued by Charles Harney, chairman of the athletic board of control, that the school athletic files had been rifled of correspondence with other colleges regarding- playing dates and tips on good young- high school stars who might be prospects to matriculate to USF. Meanwhile local observers pointed out that McKeever, even while coaching here, had troubles with his “football family.” LADIES!
