Night School Breaks Record Enrollments in state-wide ex tension classes already surpass any previous year's figures for the entire fall term period, according to mid-term reports reaching the extension division this week. The reports show that 1271 en rollments have been completed for the 68 evening courses offered this fall at 28 class centers. Fifty of those enrolling are veterans. Leading the list of enrollments at the state-wide centers are Eu gene, with 315 students, Klamath Falls with 150, and Salem with 100. The extension division emphasized that complete reports are not all in at this date, and that the final figures will rise considerably above the 1300 mark. 'The Fruits of Tahiti's Trees Will Go to Professors' Wages' BANGOR, Me.—(UP)A professor who quit his job and exiled himself in the island of Tahiti 25 years ago has be queathed about $800,000 to Harvard university. He thought “larger salaries should be paid to instructors.” The bequest was made in the will of Harrikon W. Smith who resigned from the Massachusetts Institute of Tech nology to grow tropical trees in the South Pacific. He died there last January, but his will was filed here for probate where he had maintained his legal residence. An inventory set the value of his estate at $824,034.
