Y„ Oct. 10 _(UP)—Great Britain, in a sur prise move in the heated Palestine case, formally proposed today that each member of the United Nations take “urgent measures" to absorb -) “fair share” of the world s dis placed persons. The British proposal was laid be fore the UN Palestine committee on the eve of a major American policy statement on the holy land problem. Great Britain offered a resolu tion to ask all UN members to act swiftly on the displaced persons problem because “hundreds of thousands of victims of aggression, Jewish and non-Jewish alike, re main in displaced prisons camps . . . unable to live normal lives.” LOS ANGELES, Oct. 10 (UP) _The United States doesn’t have a shortage bf oil, but just of surplus oil, Petroleum Economist Marion E. Dr. W’alters, known as the na tion’s authority on statistics of higher education, based his pre diction of total enrollment of 2,« 500,000 on returns from 350 in stitutions queried on enrollment prospects.
