es, are restricted to Friday or Saturday nights. No time must
be consumed in preparation for these events.
C. Houses must be well lighted for dances, and porch lights must
be left on all evening.
D. Costumes worn to dances held on the campus must be in good
taste.
E. House guests:
1. House guests and alumni visitors are required to obey all
University regulations, including closing hours; house-guest
and alumni privileges to be withdrawn if these regulations are
violated.
2. Women are not allowed above the first floor of men’s houses,
and men are not allowed above the first floor of women’s
houses.
3. Women are not allowed to go to men’s houses (fraternities,
co-ops, rooms, boarding houses, or apartments) unless chap
eroned, except when conducting official University business or
making official announcements.
IV. Social Events of Schools, Departments, or Allied Fraternities and
Honoraries: £
A. Attendance at such social events m\Wrbe restricted to the stu
dents of the school or department, or the members of the or
ganizations, and invited guests, and may not be all-campus in
scope. (An exception is made in the case of Scabbard, and Blade’s
traditional Military Ball.) '
B. The school or department is held responsible for the proper con
duct of the event.
C. University regulations must be obeyed.
D. Such events must be held in e. University-controlled building.
E. Such events must not conflict with important University func
tions.
V. All-Campus Dances:
A. Major:
1. Seven major all-campus dances will be allowed, namely,
Homecoming, Mortar Board, Military Ball, Frosh Glee, Soph
omore Whiskerino, Junior Prom, and. Senior Ball.
2. These dances must be held in McArthur court, on Saturday
evenings only.
3. The ticket sale must be restricted to 1,200 couples:
4. Big-name bands:
a. The date of dances will not be changed for the conveni
ence of big-name bands.

sale today and tomorrow at the
former site of the Kennell-EIlis
studios on Willamette street, ac
cording to Maryann Thielen, chap
ter president.
Hours of the sale are from 12
noon to 6 p.m. Friday and from 8
a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds
from the sale will be used for oper
ating expenses for Theta Sigma
Phi during the year.
