Y Cabinet Campaigns At Houses The YWCA membership drive starts tonight with Y cabinet mem bers addressing all women’s living organizations at house fireside on the advantages of Y membership, Nila Desinger, chairman of the drive, announced. Opportunities for upper classmen in the Y wlil be stressed in this year’s drive. Miss Desinger said that committees such as foreign affairs, public affairs and the skep tic’s hour hold interests and ad vantages for the older girls. The sophomore commission un der. the leadership of Zata Sinclair plans to investigate vocational op portunities. Personal orientation to the campus is the fall term project of all the freshman commissions with the exception of the one meet ing at 4 on Monday, which will de vote itself more to drama and mu sic. Beth Basler is in charge of all freshman commissions and Jean Lichty is leading the entertainment group. Bjorg Hansen, Y president, re ports that out of 830 YWCA mem bers last year 407 were active. As cording to Miss Hansen this record proves the University of Oregon YWCA on4 of the most active in the county. Membership is $1 and is good for one year. Miss Desinger also stated that any memberhip whether ac tive or not helps the general organ ization and those that are able to take more interest. Religious Council Slates Meeting Student church preference cards are to be distributed at the first meeting of the University religious council at the University YMCA Thursday at 4. Member^ of the council include adult and student members of church groups, members at large, and faculty representatives.
