    YWCA Schedules
Union Discussion
“Are Unions Managed in a Dem
ocratic Fashion” will be dis
cussed by a panel at 8 p. m. Wed
nesday, at the YWCA. The first
in a series of panel discussions
sponsored by the newly - formed
Public Affairs committee of the
Y, it will feature a Eugene labor
leader, as well as student and fac
ulty participation.
Although active on other cam
puses, the Oregon Y has never be
fore had a Public Affairs commit
tee. Janet Beigal is chairman of
the group.
Other committee members are
Laurel Anderson, Nancy Moran,
Claire Wiley, Evangeline Howard,
Maxine Jamieson, and Trudi
Cherni3.

Deutsche Gesellschaft
Plans Spring Picnic
The Deutsche Gesellschaft picnic
has been set for Saturday, June 24,
Lillian Newtz, club president has
announced. The party will leave for
the McKenzie river at 12:30 p.m.
Food and transportation will be
provided. The charge is $1 payable
at the Gesselschaft meeting Tues
day night where last minute de
tails of the picnic will be arranged.
Newman Club, CYO
To Breakfast Sunday
For their last communion break
fast of the year, the Newman club
will have as guests members of the
Catholic Youth organization. Both
clubs will receive communion at
the 8:30 a.m. mass Sunday, and
meet afterwards for breakfast at
Ernie Piluso’s cafe, 157 East Broad
way. Those unable to go to com
munion are urged to attend the
breakfast.

more than IS pounds of candy each
year.

Bill Sherman to Speak
At Monday's Meeting
Bill Sherman, sophomore in pre
medicine, will speak at the UO Fel
lowship meeting Monday from 7 to
8 p.m. in the University YMCA.
A pharmacist's mate in the navy
for two years attached to the ma
rines, Sherman spent a good share
of his tour of duty overseas in Ko
rea. He plans to return to that coun
try as a medical missionary when
he graduates from the University of
Oregon medical school in Portland,
where he was accepted recently^”*
