Food Spots, Co-op, BarberShop Oregon's, With Student Union By DONNA KLETZING (This is the second in the series of articles explaining the floor plans of the Student Union building, floor by floor.) The ground floor of the SU will be the center for most of the students passing through the building. Upon entering the main entrance of the SU on University street, the students will pass through the leather lounge, out to the gardens, and on through to Onyx street. The building is designed so that the to„c 1 f*nts will nass through it on their way to classes from John International Relations To Elect New Officers The International Relations club will hold an important meeting May 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Phi Delta Theta house, Pat Darby sec retary of the organization an nounced yesterday. The club will hold elections of officers and plans for the coming year will be discussed. Dr. Paul Dull, professor of political science, Will also give a short talk. Engaged Women To Be Feted at Breakfast The traditional Pansy Breakfast of Delta Delta Delta honoring all senior women who are engaged to be married will be held this year on Sunday morning, May 18. The col oiful pansy ring ceremony, in which the engaged girl steps through the ring of pansies as her name and that of her fiancee are announced will follow the break fast. Marie Lombard and Helen Gate wood, in charge of invitations, ask that any girl who has become en guged since the houses were con tacted, or lias not turned in her name to do so by contacting Delta Delta Delta immediately. Who Threw the Overalls The soup-ladler’s kettle in the I fcafeteria line of veterans com ' mons was tagged Friday noon with an anonymous notice post ed by some campus wag. The inspired inscription pro claimed: "Hash Soup. Free!! Bar nacles and bilge. The remedy for that feeling of well-being. Take a chance!! There will also be a barber shop, a lost and found de partment, a magazine stand, an information desk, the hotel con trol center, Outdoor Club offices, a post office run by the United State Post Office, and a bank. No other Student Union in the coun try has included a bank as yet and all people in this area, whether students or not, will be allowed to use the bank. Several eating services and. rooms will also be located on the ground floor. A soda-bar will be centrally located that will provide i fountain service and snacks. The architecture for this room, which is 40 to 90 feet, will' be on the order of a tavern with tables and booths for eating, studying, read ing, a bridge game, or some other games. Cafe for Students A cafeteria, which will be a little smaller in square footage than the soda-bar room, will pro vide hot meals for those who want them. This room will also be equip ped so that the serving end of the room may be partitioned off to make a dancing or party room for ; special occasions. A third eating place will be a bag lunch room for students who bring their own lunches. This will eliminate eating bag lunches on the campus. The main kitchen with refriger ator space, a meat shop, prepara tion room, and the serving facilir ties will be on this floor.
