For Oratorical Contest
It is not necessary to have been
in previous speech classes or dra

Beekman oratorical contest for
seniors, according to Professor W.;
A. Dahlberg, head of the speech de
partment.
"We have had a good response,
and more are welcome to enter the j

that the speakers might better
speak on some subject in their own
field or major.
Closing date for entries is May 1.
The contest will be held during com

given are $150, first; $100, second;
and $50, third.

Slated for May
An announcement was made yes
terday that an intramural rifle
match is being held by hte Univer

be open to all men’s living organi

Men can sign up anytime at the
ROTC building by houses and the
contest will close May 15.
The only requirements are that
the men participating must be
members of some ROTC class at
the present time. The purpose of
the match is to stimulate interest in
rifle shooting, the department said.
There will be four stages for firing:
prone, sitting, kneeling, and stand
ing.
Organizations signed u pso far
are Sigma Phi Epsilon, Theta Chi,
and Chi Psi. There is no set time

rangements, the military branch
explained, and they are anxious to
get the matches started in full.
