Charlotte Johnson Streamlines Popularity; Wins '47 Kaiser There is no reason, why Charlotte Johnson, freshman in music, shouldn't be one of the most popular girls on the cam pus. She is a striking blond, she was selected as a candidate for queen of the Coos Bay Pirate regatta last August, and she was presented a 1947 Kaiser automobile Sunday. Miss Johnson, sponsored by the Coos Bay Elks club in the regatta contest, sold more regatta buttons than the other candidates to become queen of the affair and winner of the new car. Ray Hunsacker, chairman of the '^Pirate’s presentation committee, and Cletus Snyder, a representative of the committee, presented the au tomobile to Misa Johnson during an informal ceremony in front of the Chi Omega sorority Sunday. Krenk, director of radio at the University, will be presented over the regular semi-weekly “Campus Hadlines” show from stu dios on the University campus un der the direction of Eloise M. Rock well, student producer. The play was written from documented and authenticated sources. General Admission $1.50 per person EUGENE ARMORY Auto Crash Fatal For Mrs. Evans The wife of John Stark Evans, formerly of the school of music, was killed in a two-automobile crash on highway 99-E, south of Aloany, Saturday night. Evans, who was driving the car in which Mrs. Evans was riding, was not se riously hurt. Evans, who was at the University from 1920 to 1943, was prominent in Eugene as a director of the Eu gene Gleemen. He is at present a music instructor at Lewis and Clark college in Portland.
