Students Apply Brush;
Art Building Improved
Although a few of the architec
ture students sorely miss some of
the little things in the drafting
rooms, such as the clever foot
prints that used to run up the wall
and across the ceiling, and other
very meaningful doodlings, most
of the people who work in those
rooms are appreciating the redec
orating work that was done to
that part of the art school, during
the Christmas holidays.
From some of the comments
heard in this vicinity, everyone is
beginning to feel very much at
home now, amid the new setting
of pale green hues. In addition to
the work done in the drafting
rooms, six new staff offices were
added and new fluorescent lights
installed in the art library.
According to Dean Sydney S.
Little, of the art school, several of
the students helped to do a large
portion of the work themselves,
and feel justly proud of their new
surroundings.
will be developed by the Douglas
gift.
Swank said these centralized fa
cilities will make it possible for
members of the music faculty to as
sign pieces of music as class work.
Douglass retired in 1942 after
building the library collection from
15,000 volumes in 1908 to more
than 333,000 volumes at the time of
his retirement. He died in October,
1945.
Yes. It's true that that lovely
store around the corner from Wil

corsages but beautiful art objects
and gifts of all kinds!
