Washington swimming team Fri
day swept all first places and set a
new pool record in trouncing the
University of Idaho, 59 to 16.

set here in a 1943 duel meet as he
covered the distance in 54.2
seconds.
It was Washington's third
straight conference victory. The
Huskies meet Washington State,
also undefeated, in Pullman to

To Gain Subsistences
All veteran trainees enrolled at

ceived their January 1947 subsist
ence allowance checks, are informed
that the local Veterans Adminis
tration office on the campus is
available and ready to assist them
in receiving their subsistence al
lowance within the earliest possible

New Kiln Purchased
A new kiln for ceramics has
been purchased by the University,
according to Dean Sydney W.
Little of the school of allied art
and architecture.
The new kiln will be fired by
butane, giving a higher tempera
ture range and a larger capacity
for drying ceramics, the dean ex
plained.
