Irjferdorm Ball Feb. 8 Chairman Position Open Positions of chairman and com mittee members are open for dor mitory residents for the coming interdorm dance, scheduled for February 8 in John Straub dining room. Anyone interested in working on the dance should contact his house president or appear before the interdorm council meeting Thursday, 7:00 p. m. in John Straub dining room. The annual affair is open to in dependent students and theijr dates. Ralph Bonadurer, sopho more in architecture, has been named decorations chairman. Graduate of University Arrives in Philippines Among the first pioneering de pendents who recently arrived at Camp O’Donnell, Tarlac, Philip pines, was Mrs. William D. Lutz, wife of Captain D. Lutz, executive officer of the 88th field artillery bat talion, 12th infantry division. . Mrs. Lutz, who is former Jean C. Neil, of Ashland, Oregon, is a grad uate of the University of Oregon, while Captain Lutz, a former resi dent of Miami, Florida, is a grad uate of the United States military academy. Bj-oadwav Ph. 5964 W Oregon Women Head National Aquatic Tourney By DIANA DYE Amphibian, women’s swimming honorary, has taken on extra re sponsibility this year as it will sponsor the-women’s “national in ter-collegiate • telegraphic swim meet. Besides swimming in the meets, which are to be held at the University on February 26 and March 5, the girls will be compil ing results as they are wired in from competing colleges all over the nation. Work will not be com plete until final results have been determined and reports sent to all of the entrants. Compete at Home Schools compete in their own pools and wire their times to the sponsor. From then on it is the sponsor’s responsibility to com plete the figuring. Each year one college is asked to sponsor the meet and that school is responsible for compiling all the results, times, and sending the final results to all competing schools. Colleges are divided into two groups, those with an enroll ment of more than 1000 women and those schools with less than 1000 women. Results are made on the basis of the combined groups but schools are placed individually in both groups. Last year th6 Uni versity was second in its division and seventh nationally in compe tition with all schools regardless of size. All of the Oregon team members are required to participate in a cer tain number of practices and fol low training rules.
