Contests to Determine
Campus Sing Entrants
Two or three elimination contests
will narrow the field of competitors
in this year’s all-campus sing, musi
cal feature of Junior Weekend, Boh
Daggett, junior class president, an
nounced Wednesday.
A minimum of 16 voices has been
set for each singing group, but no
maximum will be named, Daggett
said. No fraternity or sorority
songs will be allowed in this year’s
competition, he said.
Daggett also announced that pe
titions for the chairmanship of Jun
ior Weekend would be called for in
February.

University Receives
Electronic Gadgets
Seven thousand pounds of elec
tronic equipment was received by
the University last week as a gift
from the army.
The physics department will use
two thirds of the equipment and
the other third will be used by the
chemistry department. Oregon
State college also received a simi
lar gift, the physics department
reported.

Firet Discussion
A four week series of discussions
on ‘‘Courtship and Marriage" will
be opened at Wesley House this
Sunday evening with a panel of
six women and men, members of
the group discussing dating eti
quette after the fellowship supper
at 5:30 p. m.
Following Sunday evenings will
be given over to such topics as the
campus datirig situation, and guide
posts for a happy marriage. The
series concludes in February with
another panel led by student mem
bers.
This Sunday’s supper will be
followed by group singing led by
Rev. Dave Seaman, director. A
question box will be turned over
to the panel leaders during the
discussion which will start at 6:30.
All students are urged to start at
