Campus To Aid World Students (SEE Also Page 1) In order to allevaite the priva tion of students throughout. the world who- wish to rehabilitate their universities and continue their education, the World Student Relief will conduct a drive for funds on the campus during the first week of February. The organization is part of the United States section of the World Student Christian federation, and has as its constituent organizations the International Student service, Pax Romano, and B’nai B’rith Hil lel, a Jewish foundation. The WSR has two purposes. It not only sends out books and peri odicals to student centers, assists in personal contacts between stu dents of different nations, and aids the outstanding students in com pleting their college education, but dining the war years it has put par ticular emphasis on the material needs of the college student. This relief, necessitated by the war, in cludes food, clothing, medical sup plies, and texts. Drives for funds for the present organization began on the campus in 1936 and has been conducted an nually since then. Campaigns by a similar organization were con ducted for five years after World War I. In 1919 a total of $2,936 was collected from students and faculty members, at a time when the enrollment was much smellier than the present number. The collected funds are sent to the relief headquarters at Geneva, Switzerland, where they are dis tributed to needy areas. Campus honoraries, an adminis strative committee yet to be chosen, and the YWCA will aid Tom Hazzard, general chairman, In the campaign. The International Festival, conducted by the YWCA, will feature a WSF booth, and fur ther cooperate with the campus committees, competition. Awards will be given for the highest contributions in several contests, including an interhouse Religious Group to Meet Rosalind Rinker, former mission ary to China, will officiate at the first weekly Bible study of the win ter term to be conducted in the men’s lounge of Gerlinger hall from 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday.
