joring in English. Serving three
years in the Quartermaster corps,
particularly in Germany, Foster
was active in the special service
work doing several performances
in the famed 7th army club “Star
dust.”
On campus he appeared in “Eve
of Saint Mark,” “Of Thee I Sing”
and several other productions.
When asked how he felt about
the dual role idea, he explained
that it was a good idea, for it
enabled each of them to watch the
actual scene in which they played.
Alan is a staunch backer of
“Rit,” all purpose dye, explaining
that for the play he must change
the color of his hair to black, an
outstanding feature of the charac
ter. Many of the costumes in the
play are black and one whole
weekend was spent by Shirley and
Foster in dying army suntans to
black.
Foster and Shirley discuss the
possibility and' outstanding fea
tures of Richardson and Birney’s
play. “Dark of the Moon” is full
of quality and possesses a heavy
mood. In some scenes delightful
comedy comes to light.
The production is under the di
rection of Horace W. Robinson, di
rector of the University theater.
Dates which the play will run have
be^n set for December 4, 6, 10, 11,
and 12 with a matinee on the af
ternoon of December 7.
