    Puddles Painted,
Says LJO Alumnae
A phone call received last night
at the University press, just as The
Emerald was ready to roll, pre
dicted a dire fate for Puddles, the
erstwhile snowy white duck mas
cot. The Portland call, from a wo
man who said she was a University
graduate and a loyal alumnae, told
The Emerald that Puddles had been
kept in McMinnville since its per
fidious removal from Eugene by
the northern branch and that tlie
duck would appear at the half,
painted in the Aggies orange and
black colors.
Puddles, a self-respecting Oregon
rooter, was spirited away from his
master, Jim McElintock, early this
week.
