We differ about the trimmings.” r Presbyterian The Central Presbyterian church, j 10th and Pearl, offers the regular i Sunday school class at 9 :45 a.m. followed by the morning worship at 11 with Rev. Norman K. Tully de ivering the sermon entitled, "Bar nabs, Man of Sympathies.” The chair will sing “Almighty God of |Our Fathers,” by Will James. Spe ®cial music for the service will be a solo "Just for Today,” sung by Clell Conrad. A candlelight service will Bbe at 7:30 p.m. Methodist “Conquering Bitterness” is the topic of the sermon to be delivered tby Rev. L. O. Griffith at the First Methodist church, 1165 Willamette street, during the 11 a.m. services. Music for the service will be the anthem “Hark, Hark, My Soul” by Shelly, featuring the voices of El eanor Culver, soprano; and Peggy McClure, alto. “The Ninety and Nine,” is the solo to be sung by Wayne Sherwood, bass. The pro gram for all students at Wesley house, 1347 Onyx, will begin at 5:30. Christian Rev. Hugh N. McCallum, First Christian church, 1166 Oak street, has for his T1 a.m. sermon topic, “A ’ Christian Home.” The choir will sing “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Al mighty” under the direction of Hal Young. University class will meet at 9:45 a.m. with Dean Victor P. Morris, of the business administra tion school as instructor. William R. Holder, who worked with the Bel gian Congo missionaries for 12 years, will be guest speaker during the 7:30 pun. service. Town and Campus group will meet at 6:15 p.m. Catholic Masses in St. Mary’s Catholic church, 1062 Charnelton are at 6:30, 7:15, 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. Fa ther Basil will be officiating. Ro sary and benediction is at 4 p.m. Lutheran Guest speaker for the 11 a.m. ser vices at the United Lutheran church will be D. F. S. Beistel who will speak on “The Poet King of Israel.” Dr. Beistel is speaking in the absence of Rev. J. Sawyer, pas tor of the church, who is attending the U. L. C. convention at Cleveland, Ohio. Sunday school classes are at 9:45 a.m. and the Luther league will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Congregational “Concerning Our Values” will be John beldon. the topic of Rev. Wesley G. Nichol son’s sermon at the First Congre gational church, 490 13th street, during the 11 a.m. morning wor ship. Music for the service will be the anthem, “Grieve Not the Holy Spirit of God,” by Steiner; and “Art Thou the Christ,” by O’Hara will be sung by baritone soloist, Phil Green. A student supper will be at 6 p.m. in the chureh. Episcopal St. Mary’s Episcopal church, 116 13th, holds services at 8 a.m. in the chapel. Rev. E. S. Bartlam has se lected for his sermon topic, “Love is a ‘Lord of Terrible Aspect’.” The Canterbury discussion and refresh ment meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Baptist The morning service at the First Baptist church will begin at 11 a.m. with Dr. Vance Webster delivering the sermon entitled “God's Right eousness vs. Man's Unrighteous ness.” A buffet supper will be held at 5 p.m., followed by the evening service at 7:30. St. Mary's Episcopal Plans Supday Social Sunday night at 6 p.m. will be the social evening for October at St. Mary’s Episcopal church. There will be dancing, cards, entertainment and refreshments. The social evening is sponsored by Canterbury club, a nation-wide organization, whose membership is open to all interested University students. The club meets every Sun day evening from 5:30 to 7:30 for evening service, supper and discus sion of pertinent religious topics. One Sunday a month a dance and social evening is substituted for discussion period. A barn dance is being planned for November 8. Discussion, Music Highlight Supper Jim Kayes, tenor soloist, and his accompanist, Joanne Loper, will present a group of Irish ballads at the Wesley house meeting Sunday. A student supper at 5:30 will be gin the meeting, followed by group singing at 6 p.m. “How to Get the Most Out of Life” is the topic of group discus sion at 7 p.m. led by David Seaman, director of Wesley house. Back Your Team COMPLIMENTS of the Falcon across from John Straub Modern Pottery Exhibition Opened The opening of an exhibition of contemporary California pottery has been announced by Dr. Wallace S. Baldinger, art exhibition chair man of the school of architecture and allied arts. Works of Gertrud and Otto Natzler, Martha Long necker, and Marguerite Wilderhaim will be exhibited in the gallery in the art building. The gallery will open Sunday and will remain open daily from 2 to 5 p.m. until November 2. Visitors will be able to purchase the pottery on exhibition at reasonable prices, Dr. Baldringer reports. Mr. and Mrs. Natzler worked for six years in Vienna undertaking in dividual research and experiments, and have developed a highly person alized pottery which is immediately recognizable, according to Dr. Bald inger. Natzler pottery is known for its thinness and fineness of throw ing and the beauty of shape and proportion. Margurite Wilderhaim received training at Bauhaus in Weimar, Germany. Her work is a mark of grace, purity of taste, and ingenious by functional treatment in such things as the lips, spouts, and knobs, Dr. Baldinger said. Martha Longnecker, a graduate of Scripps college, has worked in Claremont, Calif. She works in rough texture terra cotta with bril liant glazes.
