Future Sweetheart
Sigma Chi members will meet
contestants in the 1346 Sigma Chi
Sweetheart contest at a dance to
he given at the fraternity house to
night. Augie Johnson, social chair
man, announced today. The names
of semi-finalists will be released
Friday.
A total of 49 girls, representing
each women's living house on the
campus, are entered in the compe
tition to decide the Sigma Chi
sweetheart of 1946. This year's win
ner will be announced over station
KORE on October 23.
University Professors
To Attend Salem Meet
Dean J. R. Jewell, dean of the ed
ucation school, reported today that
plans had been made for attend
' ance at the annual school superin
tendents meetings in Salem. The
meetings are scheduled for October
14 and 15. A county superintendents
convention also is planned, and is
beifcg held October 15 and 16.

ROTC Increases Staff
An additional infantry officer,
Captain Richard B. Roche of Bur
lingame, Calif., has been assigned
to the teaching staff of the military
science department, and is expected
to arrive at the University, October
19. Captain Roche's previous duty
was with the national headquarters
if the army emergency relief.
