Civil Service Plans Exams The Civil Service commission has announced an examination for pro bations! appointment to engineer ing aid, scientific aid and biological aid. Positions to be filled from this examination are located in Wash ington, D.C., and the immediate vicinity. The salaries will range from $1,822 to $2,644 a year for a 40 hour workweek. The duties of these positions are of a sub-professional nature and include activities in the principal branches of the above fields, such as civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering, chemistry, physics, metallurgy, entomology, biology, horticulture ,and zoology. Announcements and application forms may be obtained from most first or second-class post offices, i for Civil Service regional offices, or from the Commission’s central office in Washington D.C. Application Age limits, except for applicants entitled to veteran preference, are from 18 to 62 years. Preference points will be given to disabled vet* erans, wives of disabled veterans, or widows (who have not remarried) of deceased ex-service men.
