Dick Savinar, committee chair man, has requested that each or ganization be sure its representa tive attends the meeting. This year houses will work on their pro jects in teams of two and a draw ing will be held to determine how they will pair off. The meeting will be held in Alumni hall and is scheduled to begin promptly at 8 p.m. “State Fair” Floats The parade will feature the “State Fair’’ motif of the entire weekend and floats are to be con structed with this theme in mind. If the originality and interest shown by campus groups partici pating in University activities this year continues, it should be a very gay and elaborate spectacle that winds its way down Willamette street on May 11, committee mem bers guarantee. Cups to Winners Cups will be awarded to the or ganizations with the best entries. They will be presented at the An nual Junior Weekend luncheon. Allton Violin Concert Delightful By Mary Margaret Dundore An enthusiastic audience gath ered in the auditorium of the mu sic school Teusday night to hear the initial Eugene performance of Mary Kapp Allton. violinist. The program began with the performance of the Mozart “Con certo in D Major.” The technical passages in the first movement’s cadenza and in the third move ment were executed with remark^ able skill, while the second move ment was particularly outstand ing for the depth and beauty of tone with which it was played. Brahms Interpretation The brilliant “Sonata in A Maj or” by Brahms, which followed, received, excellent interpretation by both Mrs. Allton and Saga Sol lin-Bfoughton, who acted as ac companist throughout the pro gram. The unity in effect which the two performers achieved was notable. Dvorak-Kreisler’s “Slavonic Dance in G-minor” was the first selection of the third group on the program. The last two of this group were in striking contrast, one to the other. Tenderness of Tone The poignant beauty of Su£s “Chanson d’amour” was enhanced by the exquisite tenderness of tone which the violinist brought from her instrument. The last number, Wieniawski’s familiar “Scherzo-Tarentelle,” was played with brilliance, displaying techni cal accuracy and skill. For an encore, Mrs. Allton fa vored her pleased audience with the well-known “Girl With the Flaxen Hair” by Debussy.
