In celebration of the 25th anni
versary of the incorporation of the
student store an all-campus party
was held at the Co-op that after
noon.
"School for Husbands” had its
campus premiere Thursday night
with the, cast of characters headed
by Albert Dunn, March Hock, Ly
man Barrett, Mary Margaret Lu
cas, and Helen Tims.
Governor Earl Snell set off a
ktombshell on February 14 when he
proposed to relieve the housing
load at the University by conver
sion of the Klamath Falls marine
barracks to a junior college or ex
tension center for student veter
ans. This suggestion brought on a
storm of student opinion and let

and favoring the governor’s plan.
The Beaux-Arts ball, a costume
affair, was held Saturday night,
February 16, with George Bartho
lick as general chairman of the
affair.
- YWCA-AWS-WAA election were
held Thursday, February 21, in
Gerlinger hall with Marjory Skor
dahl, Bea King, and Virginia
Scholl elected presidents of the
three groups, respectively.
Students and townspeople flock
ed to McArthur court February 21,
to hear John Charles Thomas, not
ed baritone ,of the Metropolitan
opera company.
Frosh Glee, sponsored by the
freshman class, was presented at
the all-campus dance at McArthur
Court, February 23, and featured
the music of Ted Hallock and his
band.
University veterans urged Gov
ernor Snell to reconsider the pro
posed Klamath Falls college pro
gram with Gil Roberts in charge
of campus opposition to the plan.
A meeting was held February 27
to determine opinion on the per
tinent question.
The University mourned the
death of Dean Ellis Fuller Law
rence, dean of the school of archi
tecture and allied arts, on Febru
ary 27. Dean Lawrence has been
a member of the University fac
ulty since 1914.
“Spring Fling,” all - campus
dance sponsored by the Yeomen,
was held in Gerlinger gym Satur
day night.
Classical ballet dancers, con
cluding the entertainment series
for winter term, were presented by
a company headed by Alicia Mar
kova and Anton Dolin March 2.
Kappa Alpha Theta captured the
top position in the Red Cross drive
with Chi Omega placing second.
And these were the events and
activities that took place in the
winter term of 1946. It isn’t re
ally so strange that the term seems
short when the schedule is so full.
With strife and trouble no more
than a shadow of the past- people
are looking forward to welcome
spring.
