Navy Discharges Willis C. Warren Willis C. Warren, acting librarian it the, University before entering he navy two years ago, is now waiting his discharge in Seattle. dis,Avife, Elizabeth Warren, in itructor in home economics in the Jniversity, has flown to Seattle o meet him. They are expected o return to their home in Eugene Sunday night. A lieutenant in the navy, War en was stationed in San Fran isco, San Diego, and Los Angeles lefore being sent to Adak island n the Aleutians. Until the end of he war, he was working with lort control. Since then he has leen in charge of personnel in Ulak. Before being graduated from he University in 1930, Warren worked in the library. In 1934 he eceived his master of arts degree lere. From the time of his graduation intil entering the navy he worked or the University library except or a short time spent in Cali sraitt" during 1935, when he re eived his certificate in librarian iip. Music Students to Give Concert in Reedsport Featuring vocal and instrument al compositions, the second of a series of concerts by students of the university school of music will be presented in Reedsport Monday evening, February 25, under the sponsorship of the city of Reeds port. Students appearing in the pro gram will be Janet Shafer, violin ist, Portland; Earl Anderson, vo calist, Portland; Wilma Jean Wil son, pianist, and Rose Zena Latta, soprano, both from Coos Bay; Pa tricia Metcalf, pianist, Corvallis; Eugene Hebrard, cornetist, and Lyman Barrett and Lovell Chase, vocalists, all of Eugene; and James McMullen, vocalist, Junction City. Camp Representatives Seek Summer Workers The Oregon Section of the American Camping association will visit the campus February 21 to present to students the oppor tunities offered by agencies and private camps for summer work on camp staffs. An assembly for all men and women interested in camp coun seling will be held under the spon sorship of the Associated Wom en Students, of which Mrs. Golda Wickham, Dean of Women, is ad viser. Camp directors from Portland and Salem are expected to be here for the meeting. Dr. Huffaker Surveys Small School Projects Dr. C. L. Huffaker, professor of education, left the campus Monday for Newberg and Hood River where he will continue his work in making a survey of the smaller schools. Means, professor of religion, has returned to the cam pus from meetings in Portland and Salem where he spoke to religious groups. Friday and Saturday he met with members of the Methodist Student conference at Willamette university, Salem, and reviewed the book, “The Crisis of Our Age” by P. A. Sorokin, professor of so ciology at Harvard university. Earlier in the week Dr. Means met in Portland with members of the Oregon Council of Churches to discuss plans for the department of religion in the university.
