WAA Initiation Set In Gerlinger at 7 •The Women’s Athletic associa tion will hold initiation and its final meeting of the term tonight •ftt 7 o’clock in Gerlinger hall. The initiation, scheduled for the AWS room at 7, will be followed by a short meeting of both old and new members of Alumni hall. All women, not already WAA mem bers, and who participated in in tramural volleyball or hockey, or any girls who have done intra mural officiating, reecived invita tions, and are eligible for member ship. Refreshments will be served, and previews of winter term activities will be presented. The activity out lines will include: Outing club, Nadya Ramp, basketball, Barbara Wells; swimming, Beverly Ben nett; badminton, Della Cable, and the all-campus carnival, Pearl Peterson and Barbara Wells. In charge of the program is Vir ginia Scholl, vice-president of WAA. Committee chairmen for the meeting are: Bev Bennett, 'ar ■fangements, Della Cable, refresh ments; Gay Edwards, initiation, Betty Ingebritsoir and Ann Steven son, finance and membership, and Nadya Ramp, clean-up. Class Dismissed Friday afternoon classes after 2 and all Saturday classes will be omitted this week in accord ance with pre-war tradition affecting the Homecoming pro gram, the student affairs com mittee announced yesterday. Students Must Pick Up Saturday Game Tickets Students planning to attend the Oregon - Oregon State Homecoming game Saturday must obtain their special tickets from the University athletic ticket office, in Mc Arthur court, by Thursday, it was announced from the ticket office. Broadway Phone 75 Oregon Women Offered AWS Scholarships University women students are urged to petition immediately for two AWS scholarships to be awarded next term on the basis of the petitioner's need and merit. Petition blanks are available at the dean of women's office in Ger linger and must be returned to this office not later than Monday, December 10. The purpose of the two Asso ciated Women Student's scholar ships is to aid women in the pur suit of their educational objective at the University. Those students who can satisfy the requisites of the petition and show present and past evidences of high scholastic record and participation in school activities will be considered by the faculty and AWS council as possible recipients of the scholar ship. The need of the petitioner for such a scholarship will be duly considered. The petitions are designed to give the applicant an opportunity to prove her need for such a scho larship and her merit. The follow ing questions must be answered in the petition. Questions Asked 1. What are your past and pres ent scholastic records while at tending Oregon? 2. What extent and type of extra-curricular activities have you engaged in? a. Mention offices held, awards, etc., if any. b. Where do your principal in terests lie ? 3. What percentage of self-sup port do you give at the present time ? 4. If awarded this AWS scholar ship, in what ways do you plan, to use this money to the advantage of your present education and to your future vocational goal? a. Explain your actual need for such a scholarship, and by satis fying this need, what do you expect to accomplish ? Social Schedules Due At Dean’s Office Today Tentative schedules for social activities during winter term have not been turned in by the following houses: Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Phi, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Gamma Phi Beta, Hendricks hall, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Barons, Hansen house, and Mill lodge. These schedules must be turned in to the dean of women’s office by 5:00 today. ISA Representative Petitions Due Friday Petitions for ISA representa tives are due Friday, Novem ber 30, at 5 p.ni. and should be turned in to Ann Van Valzeh, Hendricks hall, or Catherine Crombie, Gamma hall. Positions open include male representa tives from all four classes, plus a woman representative from the freshman class. Homecoming Dance Bids Tickets for the Homecoming dance December 1 will be sold by Yeomen and Orides, inde pendent men’s and women’s or ganizations. Tlie tickets may be obtained at the Co-op and the Side Wednesday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m., and on Satur day from 10 a.m. to noon.
