Ideal Campus Couple Choice Calendared by Committee By Kathryn Schneider Bettys and Joes from every living organization will meet at 4 p. m. today in Gerlinger. Suspense will reign as the judges, Joan Holstad and Bob “Smitty” Smith (Oregon’s- last ideal campus couple) Bean Virgil Earl, Mrs. Grace Glang, Janet Douglas and Harry Granger, observe each contestant go through the routine by which they will be judged. Ann Burgess, contest chairman, asks that the contestants wear campus attire since dress clothes are not especially typical of an Oregon Webfeot. The judges will eliminate the group down to four fellows and four gals. The outcome of the eliminations will be kept secret from everyone including the contestants themselves until the night of the Sophomore Whisker ino dance. Hence it becomes quite necessary that all contestants appear at the dance. Of course it is understood that this will be simple for the girls concerned but the men candidates are urged to find themselves dates if it is at all possible and if not, the organizations backing them should try everything in their power to get the fellow’s “fixed up” for the dance. Tickets on Sale The tickets, which go on sale today at the Coop, will include [ four perforated stubs. The stubs are to serve as votes which will be placed into ballot boxes, bearing the names of each of the eight final contestants, by every couple entering McArthur court Saturday night. Couples will vote separately. It is to each organization’s own advantage that they have as many representatives as possible at the dance on time to vote before in termission, since none will know if their candidate is a finalist until that night.
