By BOB CHAPMAN Oregon’s miniature “Civil War” of the baseball diamond spotlights the sports program for Junior Weekend. This classic sandlot exhibition of potential major league material (probably bat boys) will feature an all-out battle between tbe respective student bodies of the business ad school and the book learning law students. Game time is 1:30 p.m. this afternoon at Howe field. Starting lineups haven't been announced, but both schools insist that after today’s game they will be the sandlot champs. The BA school may sign Dick Wilkins for the chief pitching role but this communication hadn't been confirmed by the communications commission as of 3 p.m. Friday. Intramurals As the intramural softball schedule enters the second round of league play the Purity Boys continue to maintain their victory streak behind the chuck of Herald Haskell in National league competition. Marion Huff’s club has dominated league play in their first three league starts and the other three clubs in the circuit seem unable to check the strong batting power of the Purity club. The American league race is deadlocked between Esquires and Hamilton Leaders, but after Omega’s surprise victory last week the latter cannot be counted out of the race. Omega staged a seventh-inning rally and came from behind to defeat tl<e favored Hamilton club 5-4 after being held scoreless for six innings. Hamilton and company came back the following evening and defeated the strong Esquire nine 10-4. Softball followups have been neglected all term because af a shortage of staff writers. However this situation can be remedied if each club would assign a reporter to phone in the score, batteries, box score, and any other valuable information.
