Pigger’s Guide Gets New Face A bright yellow cover will be one of the distinctive features of this year’s Pigger’s Guide, accord ing to Jean Lawrence, editor. Tiie cover has been designed by Carol Hinson, freshman in art. A few changes have been made in the student directory this year. The songs and yells which were printed in the back of last year’s directory have been omitted as they were previously printed in the freshman handbook. Another dif ference is that no asterisks have been placed before the married students’ names. Positions on the Pigger’s Guide staff are: Jean Lawrence, editor; Berta Reithe, assistant editor; and Annamae Winship, business man ager. Wesley, Westminister Plan Social Activities Wesley house reminds students that Tuesday night is open house for all who care to come. After classes on Wednesday at 4, drop in for tea around the fireplace. It's mighty tempting on rainy days, and relaxing too, according to Miss Mary Carpenter, director. Westminster House A potluck dinner will be held at Westminster house at 6 on Wed nesday evening food for thought, and also for eating. Everyone is welcome. University CAMPUS CALENDAR “All coeds of voting age and others interested’’ are invited to attend the organizational meeting | of the “21 club,” slated this after noon at 4 in the YWCA bungalow. As announced by Elizabeth Gil more, “Y” public affairs chairman, the club is for all campus women interested in the coming election and other political questions. Pi Lambda Theta will meet at 7:30 Thursday, November 2, at the YWCA bungalow. Members are urged to be present to make plans for the year. Kwama meeting will be held at 4:30 at the Kappa Kappa Gamma house today. • Janice Seymour Named YWCA Social Chairman Janice Seymour has been ap pointed to the position of social chairman on the senior cabinet of the YWCA by President Joan Dolph. Miss Seymour has called a meet ing at 4 Thursday of all YWCA members interested in working on a social committee. This includes girls who checked the social com mittee on the interest cards. Tea will be served. Commission of the Council of Church Boards of Education. Cooperating organizations are: the Chinese Student Christian association, the Federation of Jew ish Student Organizations of New York, the Institute of International Education, and the Polish Amer ican Council of the U.S.A. WAA Plans Swim Friday Swimmers will have an extra chance to practice this Friday from 7:30 until 9 p.m., for the WAA has arranged with the physical educa tion department to open the pool in Gerlinger at that time. Regular free periods during which girls may swim are 5 to 6 p.m. on Mon days, Wednesday, and Fridays, and 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thurs days. Swimming will take the place of a fun night this week, the WAA cabinet decided Monday in making plans for the future. In addition to volleyball, WAA activities this term will include an Outing club bicycle trip, an all-membership and initiation meeting, and perhaps an other fun night. 'Y' Members Needed For Social Committees All YWCA members interested in working on the social committee are asked to be at the YWCA bungalow Thursday at 4 p.m. This meetings has been called by Janice Selmour, sophomore in business administration, who was recently appointed social chairman of the senior cabinet. Girls who checked the social committee on their interest cards are particularly asked to attend. Dean Speaks in Portland Dr. Victor P. Morris, dean of the business administration school, was the speaker at an American Insti tute of Banking conference held in Portland Thursday, October 26. This will complete the plan which already includes approximately 1000 high school and college girls in Eugene. The program calls for forums, informal classes and discussions, and recreational activities, among them coeducational. A committee from the YMCA is working on the developments of the plan.
