New WAA Constitution -*r Following is the revised WAA constitution, approved by the WAA council at its meeting on Tuesday. All members of WAA should read the constitution care fully, Miss Beverly Goetz, president of WAA, announced. The constitution will be voted on at WAA elections, next 'Thursday morning, and will be included on the ballot. CUN S111 L TION WOMEN’S ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON Organized Oct. 9, 1913 ARTICLE I Name and Purpose SECTION 1—The name of this organization shall be the Women’s Athletic Association of the Uni versity of Oregon. -^-SECTION 2—The purpose of this association shall be to further interest in athletic activities by providing wholesome recreational functions; to promote the ideal of true sportsmanship; to encourage a feeling of good fellowship among the women of the University of Oregon; and to provide the oppor tunities for participation and lead ership in related activities. ARTICLE II Membership SECTION 1—Membership in this I organization shall be open to all women students of the Association Students of the University of Ore g'on who have fulfilled the quali fication for membership. SECTION 2—All women having received the equivalent of one ac tivity check under the participa tion system shall be eligible for membership in this organization. The membership fee is $1 per year. Transfers who have been mem bers of a Women's Athletic Asso ciation in other institutions which are members of the Athletic Fed eration of College Women, shall apply for membership by present ing a letter verifying their mem bership in the former association. There shall be a membership fee required of them. SECTION 3—All prospective members W'ho have completed the requirements for membership the previous term or before, upon in vitation from the Secretary of the Women's Athletic Association be come members of this association' at an initiation. Membership cards shall be given to initiates. ARTICLE III Fees SECTION 1—There shall be a 0 ^ EDDIE DEW SMILEY BURNETTE "RAIDERS IN SUNSET PASS" plus TOM CONWAY "FALCON AND THE COEDS" yearly membership fee of $1.00. There shall be no dues or other outside assessments. ARTICLE IV Officers and Elections SECTION 1—Elective officers of this association shall be: Presi dent, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Custodian, Sergeant at Arms. SECTION 2—Appointive officers shall be: Head of Sports, Publicity Chairman, Social Chairman. SECTION 3—The nominating committee shall consist of the senior members of the Cabinet, with the adviser as an ex-officio member. If there are no seniors on the Cabinet, the president may appoint upper classmen who will not return to school in the fall to be on the nominating committee. In accordance with the plan of women’s elections, the nominations will not be publicly announced un til election day. SECTION 4—All candidates for election offices shall be active members of the association. All of ficers, whether appointed or elect ed, shall maintain the University scholarship standard required of them. SECTION 5—Elections are held at the same time as the other women’s elections on the campus. All fules governing those elections apply to the Women's Athletic A Qcnpin Hnn ARTICLE V Executive Cabinet SECTION 1 — The Executive Cabinet shall consist of the presi- j dent, who shall act as chairman of the Cabinet; the vice-president, the secretary, treasurer, custodian, sergeant-at-arms, Head of Sports, Publicity Chairman, Social Chair man, managers of individual sports, and the representatives of the clubs and honoraries. The adviser of the Association is always present at Cabinet meet ings and acts as an ex-officio mem ber. SECTION 2—It shall be the duty of the Executive Cabinet to act as an executive body for the association; to decide what sports and committee work activity checks shall be awarded and the basis for awarding them; to per form the business which concerns the association; to make revise and amend the by-Laws of the organ ization. ARTICLE VI Amendments SECTION 1—This constitution may be amended by a two-thirds vote of a quorum of active mem bers. 804 Willamette and 917 Willamette 6 N VITAMINS and 6 MINERALS AU/A/OW imer/ By BOB STILES The civilian basketball league got underway the other night with two wins registered by the Steiwer Boomers. These were the only two games played. Schedules for the games will be posted on the bulletin board in the PE building and will also appear in the Emerald. Bob Davis and his Steiwer hall team rolled around Campbell ao iiiejr ueiecittju mem oz to o. This game was closer than the score shows. The entire team kept feeding the ball to Bob Davis and he made 21 of his team’s points. The Steiwer Boomers ran into tougher opposition than they ex pected when they met Mason's Wonders. In its entirety the game was close with the lead changing constantly. It was in the last 10 seconds of play that Monahan of the Boomers sank the winning] i shot to make the score Iti to 15 in favor of the Boomers. If the coming- games in the in tramurals are as interesting as the first games played, this will be a very successful season for the league. Hobby’s squad is hard at work now preparing for the coming games with Idaho. The squad as a whole is showing great, improve ment and will be in good condition when they meet the Vandals.
