Bra-a-a-a-ck By PAT PERRY The editor done tole me that she wanted a column about women for this page, BUT with Danny active as he seems to be today that is a sheer impossibility—The men will not be ignored, even of this page. So I shall throw my typewriter into low gear, and rattle off the gossip I have garnered during the last few weeks. Romance— June Davis gets credit for the most romantic, in story - book style, marriage of the summer. It seems that while attending Ro berta Boyd’s wedding in Yuba City, Calif., she met Captain George Eckert. The atmosphere was just too much, or something, and a couple of months later, she and the captain were married. * * * Surprise— Bill (Balding) Mckevitt, Fee gee, and Betty Mackall, Chi O, pulled a number 1-A coup with their recent announcement of their April marriage. Tommy Roblin, Pi Kap foot baller, planted his pin on Roberta Madden, Rally squad glamour gal. Marriages— Lieut. Ted Hallock, former Em eraldite and drummer, to Muriel Myers, Alpha Phi Beverly Haa heim, Adipi, to Jim Lyons—Verlie Myers, Pi Phi, to Jim Newquist, Beta- Edie Borda, last year’s Deegee proxy, to Jim Higgens, Kappa Sig Mary I-Ieber, Tri Delt, to Val Culwell, who is signed up with the New York Giants - Mar ietta Macmnnigal to John Ward —Helen Holden, former Hen hall prexy to Sig Ep Floyd Manning. Engagements— Janet (Pee-Wee) Ross, A Dee Pi and WAA prexy, announced her engagement to Wayne Dick enson, PFC, mailing address Dutch Harbor — Betty Edwards, Alpha Phi, to Lieut. Mason De Neff — Shirley Gravely to Bill Rapson, Kappa Sig - Jean Ken dall, Pi Phi of a couple of years back, to Ensign Neal Baumgard iner Jean Baker, Alpha Phi, to Tom Baumgardiner, Sigma Nil— Pat Carson, Sigma Kappa, to Warren Carkin, Sigma Chi — Jeanette Nielson to Johnny Bu balo, Sigma Nu. Stuff— Muriel Stevens and M o r r i s s Jackson are now living at El Cen l tro. Seems that Moriss ran his plane into a ditch and broke a collar bone—something like going over a cloud bank, perhaps. Marge Dibble has finished her Campfire .training, and is working at Camp Nemanu. Latest reports are that she and A1 Larsen, coali tion politician, are to be married as soon as he gets his commis sion. Millie Wilson, of Emerald fame, is working for the Call-Bulletin in San Francisco—Skipper White is taking Japanese at a Navy school in Colorado—Connie Aver ill and Janet Farnham are airing their journalistic abilities in Marshfield — Marge Major and Margaret Deane are doing their all for the Register-Guard—M. A. Jackson, DeeGee, has enlisted in the Wacs (Pat Holder influence, no doubt) — Marge Sault should be just about through with her Wac training— Marge Condon, Pi Phi, visited Tom Oxman, ATO, after making certain promises to papa—Leona La Duke is a Scher mer branch manager in Califor nia. Latest word is that she has given Norman Foster and Bill MacArthur the RKO, plans to make use next year of that fel lowship to Mills that she won. » * * Tlio Changes Made— The Mary Jane Terry - Guy The University of Wisconsin naval training school graduated almost 1,500 radio operators dur ing the last eight months of 1912. Eighty-five students work part time in Washington State college library. People are waiting for The Announcement.
