Brawny Jim Bronson Plavs Southern 'Wreck' By AMY PRUDEN “The southern accent of the ‘The Wreck’ ought to come in handy at Fort Benning,” laughed Jim Bronson as he sat tipped back in Horace Robinson's chair at the drama studio and attempted to describe his role in the newest University theater play, “My Sister Eileen," Jim portrays a "bronzed and hairy ex-football player from Georgia Tech who manages to spend most of his time exercis tag in shorts, hocking pictures, taking sly nips from a bottle, or expertly ironing' pleated skirts.' “Oi e outstanding feature of this play,’’ grinned Jim, “i3 the fact that for tiie first time I am ac tually working with some of my fraternity brothers . . . six Sigma Cilia in this play.” Starting in as a journalism ma jor, Jim became involved in the drama department and since then has held down such roles as Carl sot:, the mean bully in ‘‘Of Mice ami Men”: Mungo, the prissy, straight-laced elder in “Wingless Victory'': Chester Binney, a farce 'character on a small town “dope” in ‘The Whole Town’s Talking”; ‘a common straight role of a busi ness man in "Watch on the Rhone"; and tire flustered politi cian in “Of Tiiee I Sing.” Jim says that the most fun of all was his role in “Of Thee X Sing” because of file noise and music which sur rounded the big production. Resides his acting, Jim design ed the set for “My Sister Eileen” and after the war plans to either work on scene designing or play wuting. “My Sister Eileen" will be Jit i's last appearance on the Uni versity stage since he will grad ual;'' this spring, and plans to have liis tonsils out as soon as the show closes. -.- ■" - 1 Roller Skating Everv : Night, 7 :30 to 10:30 / For Party Reservation ' Phone 1022-R Paramount Skating Rink 25 W. 7th St. Eugene, Ore. i * Bob Steele * Tom Taylor * Jimmy Dodd THUNDERING TRAILS' 'Sherlock Holmes :\nd the Secreat Weapon’ LUCKY JORDAN' blurring1 ALAN LADD THE MYSTERIOUS DOCTOR" with John Loder ___ 'SIN TOWN' Constance Bennett Brod Crawford Tahiti Honey' with The Andrews Sisters JIM BRONSON Huskies Move to (Continued from page five) both inexperienced but showing plenty of promise.
