Alumna Becomes Air Stewardess Taking up her duties aloft, as one of the new "coed” steward esses of TJnited Air Lines, Miss Jean Talboy, graduate of the University of Oregon and member cf Del ; ta Gamma sor ority, has com pleted her train ing at United’s stewardess \ school in Chica I go. fflDHHi Miss Talboy, a Portia n’der and sister of Lois Nelson, fresh man in liberal arts, attended Los Angeles City college for two years, then completed her stud ies at Oregon from 3 940 to 1942. She was active in the cultural arts club, the ski club, and vari ous other campus activities. Assigned to the western sec tion of United Air Lines’ coast to-coast system based at Port land, she is one of many girls, who have been in "coed” steward ess training since the company waived its former nursing re quirement. Alpha Phi Head Visits Mrs. William R. Cobb, national president of Alpha. Phi, is now visiting the local chapter. She is from Berkeley, California, and plans to stay until FTiday, then goiong on to Portland. There will be no special entertainment for her because of the war. Patients Vacation; Pill Resort Filled Several people are taking an early Easter vacation judging from the influx of patients at the infirmary on Wednesday. Phyllis Churchman, Phyllis Evans, Cay Marshall, Barbara Jean Fuller, Jim Linse, and John McAuliffe are the newest patients admitted, while Phyllis Heber, Virginia Campbell, Betty Kincaid, and Leonard Barde were discharged. Jim Elgin, Owen Day, Rose mary Sloan, and Vivian Knoll are still remaining to enjoy the pleasant atmosphere of the “pill palace.” Broadcasters to Air ’Garrick’ Production Robertson’s version of “David Garrick,” a play about one of England’s well-known actors, will be presented by the radio work shop tonight at 8 over KOAC. The cast features Fred Beck with in the title role, supported by Gloria Malloy as Ada, Phyllis Plowman as Mrs. Smith, R.ay Dickson as Simon, Frank Wat kins as Dick, Ted Loud as a stut tering friend, and Dick Ashcom as Smith.
