The spectacular Universal film, which opens Sunday at the Hei lig theater, features a cast of beauties especially chosen from the most glamourous stars in Hollywood. The harem includes Elyse Knox, Asquanetta, Phyllis Forbes, Helen Pender, and Peggy Satterlee. Maria Montez, who has the starring role of Scherazade, has 13 charges in her elaborate ward robe, designed by studio experts after long research into Oriental apparel. Total weight of the 13 costumes is only six pounds. The story of the film, which seems only of secondary impor tance in view of the unmatched cast, is the traditional tales of the Arabian Nights, with glam orous Schereza.de bewitching the prince (Jon Hall) with her tales of Oriental life. ’Casablanca/ Next at Mac, Stars Bogart Casablanca, the city which flashed into the headlines of newspapers throughout the world when it became the key city of the Amei’ican invasion of Africa, will splash boldly and brilliantly on the screen of the McDonald theater Thursday when Warner's “Casablanca" opens for a six-day run. The film moves with the swift ness of the A.E.F., and only Humphrey Bogart, one of the screen's toughest men, could keep that pace. This time Bogart, as a right guy named "Rick,” gets in volved in the underground move ment in the desert city. The action of the story comes to a climax when Rick, who is trying to escape from the Nazis in the city, meets lovely Ingrid Bergman and her husband Paul Henried, both working for the Underground. While the three top stars of “Casablancaa" turn in perform ances worthy of their reputations, credit must also be given to a masterly quartet of villains, Claude Rains, Conrad Veidt, Syd ney Greenstreet, and Peter Lorre, who round out the cast. The film’s record-breaking runs in many cities have caused the management of the McDonald to book it for six days. It set a new record at the Broadway the ater in Portland, having stayed on that screen for a longer run ning time than any picture since “Gone With the Wind.” The picture, which opens Sun day at the Heilig for a four-day run, will move to the Mayflower on Thursday for an additional four days on the campus.
