Dear Diary: We’re showing Dad a bit of collegiate life this week

prelude to the weekend girls are asking their men to the Heart Hop

Chi Omega, Pi Beta Phi, Alpha Phi and Gamma Phi with crowning
of the lucky man dow'n millrace way at the Gamma Phi house.

fireside at the Chi Psi lodge will
ae an occasion, according to ad

freshmen are whipping up.
Formal and Informal
Alpha Phi’s informal fireside
is slated for Friday eve as is the
informal dance of Kappa Alpha
Theta.
Orides-Yeomen formal in Ger

Queen at the Sweetheart Swing.
Pi Beta Phi’s formal is a dinner
dance at the Osburn. Elmer Da

given by Kirkwood at the Eugene
hotel. Hearts in Rhythm is the
theme of the Hilyard formal.
Campbell club's dance will be
formal, also.
Scoop of the week: The boys
at Fenton hall are having a so

£ “Talk of the Town”
Dads’ luncheon is slated for
Saturday noon. With the big ca

which adds variety to the eve

How many among those pres

anaemic man who went to the.
blood bank and they asked him
if he wanted to make a deposit
or withdrawal ? . . . All right,
never mind. . . .
The cast of “The Whole Town's
Talking,” the show which is be
ing given for the benefit of the
dads next weekend, was feeling
awfully professional this week
as they dashed back to classes
from an out-of-town opening . . .
just like the big shows in the
East. The place was Elkton, and
they actually had the high school
gym as a theater, not the usual
grange hall. . . . The show went
over beautifully and more of the
local citizenry signed with the
army for filter center duty than
at any time before these trips
which are designed to promote
interest in defense work. . . .
The black markets and the
OPA must have crossed their
wires or fingers or maybe it was
swords the other day, at any rate,
one gal mentioned that she had
consumed a large piece of what
she thought was perfectly good
steer beef, but when she was
about halfway through with it,
she noticed that the bone had
turned BLUE!!! That isn't nor
mal . . . or is it? ? ?
Annual Keport from the

Two damsels were wandering
along by the Co-op one after
noon, late when, all o’ a sudden,
they heard a Frantic Yell: “Hey,
come over here!”
They looked around and didn’t
see anybody, so they started on.
The Frantic Yell came again.
This time they saw an arm,
seemingly coming out of the
turf, waving in the air. The arm
belonged to a small bey, who,
with a couple of others, had gone
investigating in the heating S5rs
tem and had lost themselves.
The kids asked for a flash
light and put in a request that
said damsels come back in 15
minutes if they didn't get out.
In a few minutes the lost ex
plorers emerged from a man-hole
