Senior’s Recital
Voiced Tonight
“And God Said', Let the Earth
Bring Forth,” a recitative from
the oratorio, “The Creation,” by
Joseph Haydn, will be sung by
Ruth Merritt, senior in music,
when she presents her gradua
tion recital tonight at 8:15 in the
school of-music auditorium.
Miss Merritt is a pupil of Sig
urd Nillsen, professor of voice.
She will be accompanied at the
piano by Janice Hough.
Miss Merritt will open her pro
gram with a group of 18th cen
tury songs including Gluck’s “O
Thou Beloved,” Spohr’s “Rose,
How Enchanting Art Thou” from
the opera, “Zemire and Azor,”
and “Oh Sleep, Why Dost Thou
Leave Me?” from the opera “Se
mele” by Handel.
Following intermission, Miss
Merritt will sing a group of mod
ern numbers, such as “Nocturne”
from the song cycle “Over the
Rim of the Moon” by Michael
Head, “The Last Hour” by A.
Walter Kramer, and “The Year’s
at the Spring” by Airs. H. II.

Pat Wynne, former Oregon var

Coronation
The King and two Knaves of
Hearts will be announced Thurs
day and the coronation will bo
held at the Gamma Phi Beta
house following a regal proces
sion across the campus.
Tickets go off sale in all wo-;
men's living organizations today,
but may be purchased at a booth
at the Side Wednesday. Alyce
Pepion, ticket chairman, an
nounced that Hilyard house, Chi
Omega, and University house
have gone 100 per cent in the
purchase of tickets, in addition
to Gamma Phi Beta, Alpha Xi
Delta, Alpka Delta Pi, and Al
pha Phi which she had formerly
announced. Gamma Phi Beta won
the order for three records for
going 100 per cent first.
Colorado university has added
500 seats in its fieldhouse, bring
ing its capacity to 5,600.
