Symposium begins its yearly
schedule today as four members
of the group leave for appear
ances before various civic groups
in the Medford area.

when Jim Thayer, junior, and
Miss Esther Quier, freshman,
speak this morning at the Drain
high school. They are scheduled
for the Ashland chamber of com
merce and Central Point high
school on Wednesday and The
Dalles chamber of commerce on
Friday.
“What Should' Be Done at the
Next Peace Conference” is the
question concerning Miss Alice
Harter, sophomore, and Jack Rob
inson, junior, in their appearance
before the Grants Pass Rotary
club and Methodist church Wed
nesday. Thursday they will be at
Rogue River high school.
The purpose of symposium is
based on a saying of Plato that

shop will meet this evening at 7:30

A talk on “The Structure of
Protoplasm” will be given by Dr.
A. R. Moore, research professor
of physiology, at the regular meet
ing of the Chemistry seminar this
afternoon at 4:15 in 103 McClure
hall.
The campus Christian Science
organization will meet every Tues
day evening at 7:30 on the third
floor of Gerlinger hall. All those
interested are invited to attend.
Episcopal communion services
will be held Wednesday morning
at 7 in the men's lounge at Ger
linger hall.
Pan-Hellenic will meet this aft
ernoon at 4 in Gerlinger hall to
discuss rushing rules. All repre
sentatives and alum advisors are
urged to come.
Miss Gertrude Mooney, Univer
sity of Texas physical education
instructor, is women’s representa
tive for physical fitness in the

Title of "Queen of the Frosh
Mix” was bestowed upon Emmy
Lou Fargo, freshman in liberal
arts, by popular applause at the
freshman get-together held in
Gerlinger hall Saturday night af
ter the Oregon-Washington game.
The two other finalists from a
group of seven contestants were
Louise Goodwin, freshman in
AAA; and June Johnson, fresh
man in music.
An enormous stag line and a
slippery floor greeted the enthu
siastic crowd who danced to ra
dio n usic at the no-date affair.
Ted Loud, master of ceremon
ies introduced a short quiz pro
gram at intermission with con
testants picked from among the
dancers.
