Candy Canes Little red and white striped candy canes tied on a package done in white tissue paper and tied with red and white striped ribbon is very dashing. . . . Or you could put a cluster of small Christmas tree balls . . * or fir or pine cones (small, please) ... or a sprig of fire thorn with lots of berries ... or boxwood to trim your wrappings up. All these are very effective with plain white or blue or red tissue paper. . . . Stripes For that ultra-sophisticated look, there is nothing like striped paper. . . . Why it seems so ex tremely elegant no one can say, but it promptly brings to mind New York at Christmas with cocktail parties and after-thea ter suppers. So use stripes if you want to be awfully dashing. Even though you may have trouble finding paper, use your ingenuity to mgke your packages gay to help keep up the so far quite neglected civilian morale, as well as that of the armed forces. . . .
