Pamphlets Tell
(Continued from page one)
courses leading in that direction,
and the advisers to see regarding
the courses.
From the pamphlet: "With few
exceptions these aren’t temporary
war-time jobs, but professional
positions offering long-time em
ployment and advancement. The
most numerous and often most
spectacular war-time jobs are at
sub-University level. 'Women
equipped with talents and educa
tion for full professional respon
sibility have a patriotic duty to
use them at the highest possible
level.”
It lists fields and jobs in which
wffmen now are able to work.
More fully-trained people are
needed, since the shortages are
often acute.
Fields Listed
Fields of work rather than spe
cific jobs are stressed, fields in
which substantial although not
always complete preparation may
be had at the University. Only a
few of hundreds of possible jobs
are listed.
Professional specialists, e.g.,
accountants, architects, nurses,
etc., must ordinarily major in a
special field, but for many war
jobs women are selected chiefly
cn a basis of character, person
ality, attitude, habits of work,
and quality of performance of
whatever has been done.
