To Boom Anew
With the highest rating which is awarded to college year
books tacked on the wall and a record of All-American awards
making up its past history, plans for the 1943 Oregana are
already booming straight ahead toward a repeat performance
for the coming school year according to Editor Wes Sullivan
and Business Manager Jeff Kitchen.
Though necessary war restrictions have cut resources and
material for other activities, the
194:j Oregana, through early plac
ing of contracts and a pre-war
purchased paper supply, will be
able to include every major item
contained in last yeat's outstand
ing yearbook. Sullivan stated.
Featuring three three-color
sections—one for each term—
-and over 100 page3 of activity
and candid campus shots carry
ing a running account of a full
year of University life, the Ore
gana will also introduce a new
highlight in the form of etchings
of main buildings of each school
of the University.

gana has a lengthy background
of high national ratings. In 1930,
1937, and 1940 it received All
American honors. In 1936 the
I—.
coveted “Pacemaker" rating was
conferred, and this rating was
equaled by the 1941 “Honor Roll"
volume. No association rating
has yet been received for the
1942 Oregana but it is expected
early fall term.
“We are challenged by the job
or putting out a pictorial history
of a school year which will be
even more worthwhile when the
added values and costs of war
time education and college life
are considered,” Kitchen stated,
“and we are confident that the
Oregana for 1943 will be treas
ured in years to come as an out
standing memory and record
book of a determined yet happy
year of college life.”
The Oregana will go on sale
the first day of class registration
and sales continue throughout
the registration period. Staff
meetings for both the editorial
and business departments will be
held the first week in October,
and all entering freshman stu
dents as well as former Oregana
workers are urged to attend.
