Olson’s Circuit Hit In Ninth Gives Win The Greeks had a word for it! Wren Hits Futile Homer That Bob Wren hit a despera 1 ion homer in the Greek half of the inning didn't matter. Third nacker Jimmy Linse snared two line drives and the heart-weak ening affair was over. The Greeks started out as if they were going to drive the Independents out of the ball JJarlv. Roy Nelson of Canard started on the hill for them, ♦funny Potts worked him for a walk. Hog Dick heat out a rol •> r and Andrews got a free ticket. Xels got Nowling to pop to Bob Reynolds, but Dean Van J .vdegraf slashed a double right on the left field foul line scor ing l’olts and Dick. Wren polled the “squeeze” play, and ‘ Porkehops” came stampeding across the plate. Each team holds a victory in the series, Oregon having won the first at Eugene while the Rooks evened the count at Cor vallis. The two teams are scheduled to meet at Howe field this after noon at 3 o'clock, weather per mitting. Whitey Lokan, ace of the Duckling mound staff, will probably twirl for the Frosh with Aubry Cromwell catching him. Duck Nine Home The Oregon varsity baseball squad, victor in five of its six games on the annual inland empire tour, arrived in Eugene Friday afternoon, with eyes east on its remaining' two games with Oregon State, which may decide the northern division championship. The Webfoots defeated Ida ho and Washington Stale twice on its recent trip, while split ting the Washington Huskies. Oregon now has a record of 10 victories against four defeats, and is in second place in the standings. Sigma Delta Psi Hay Segale, assistant intra mural director, announced yes terday that all applications for Sigma Delta Psi must be in by Monday.
