Sweetser, for mer professor of biology of the University, and one who was ac ti^rin the interests of the Meth odist church. A myrtlewood cross will be presented to Wesley foun dation by the advisory commis sion of the church in memory of Dr. Sweetser. Eleanor Scott will lead the service. Father S. E. Bartlam will speak at St. Mary’s Episcopal church on the topic, "Is Chris tianity Easy?” at the morning service at 11 o'clock. Baptist "Taking God at His Word” is the title of D. Vance Webster’s sermon in the regular morning worship service of the First Bap tist church. At 7:30 p.m. he will speak on "The Power to Make the World Ask Questions.” The Sunday school group will meet at 9:45 a.m. and the BYPU at 6:15 p.m. Dr. S. Earl Childers will speak on “Types Fulfilled in Christ” at 11 a.m. in the First Christian church at Eleventh and Oak streets. “Obstacles, Hindrances, and Incentives” is his topic for the evening service at 7:30. Bible school will meet at 9:45 a.m. and the Christian Endeavor discussion group at 6:15. Westminster house is inaugu rating two new series of dis cussion groups this Sunday, one at 9:45 a.m. and the other at 6:30 p.m. “Applied Religion'’ is the general theme of the morn ing group and will be student led. Nathan Edwards will lead the group this Sunday. Six students will lead the eve ning discussion group; their topic will be, “The Greatest Thing in the World to Me.” Cliff Mattson, Frak Hodson, Kay Daugherty, Flora Kibler, Ruth Sprechner, Bettie Plotner, and Ray Conroy will participate. Christian Science “Spirit" is the lesson sermon topic in the 11 o’clock service of the First Church of Christ, Sci entist, Twelfth and Oak. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. A testi monial meeting will be held at the church at 8 o’clock Wednes day evening. Dr. Edward Purdy, superinten dent of the Salem district of the Methodist church, will speak at Eugene’s first Methodist church on ‘’The Quest for Power," at 11 a.m, Sunday. "Lincoln: Man of God" is the theme of Dr. Norman K. Tally's sermon at the morning worship service of the Central Presbyter ian church. At 7:30 in the eve ning he will speak on "The Two Roads." Dr. Breen Dr. Quirinus Breen, assistant professor of social science and history at the University, will conduct the first of a series of classes on "The Doctrine of Cre ation" on Monday evening at 7:30.
