Out of 10 men students ap proached by Margaret Brooke, pert, dark-haired, freshman girl, Yesterday afternoon on “Hello Walk,’’ two of them answered her “Hello,” and the other eight looked at her as if she were an annoyance. It was all part of a survey con ducted by the Emerald to find out how closely students are ob serving some of the Homecoming traditions. A cameraman was on hand to record the reactions of some of I the students. In the 20 minutes between 1:50 p.m. and 2:10. p.m. he had taken three pictures, and they were posed for the occasion. Jim Rathbun and his “Order of the O’’ men are patrolling the campus beginning Monday, No vember 24, and all offenders of Oregon traditions, including not speaking on “Hello walk,” will be severely chastised at the noon “hit parades” on Fenton hall steps. The concert is sponsored by the edu cational activities board. Violin Master Appears Soon Yehudi Menuhin, one of the world’s foremost violin artists, will make his first Eugene ap pearance in a concert December 1. Menuhin has won acclaim as one of the most talented of adult musicians. Menuhin began his serious studies on the violin when he was 4. His first public appearance was made in San Francisco at the age of 7, but the performance that echoed around the musical world was given when he was 11 on the stage of New York’s Car negie hall. The concert is sponsored by the educational activities board and tickets may be purchased after November 20 at the activities of fice or by phoning local 214.
