    UO Yearbook to be World's Largest

Announces 90 Page
Increase for Book
Annapolis Lucky Bag Nearest Rival
Of Oregon All-American Publication;
Bishop, Page Sound Call for New Staff
“The world’s largest college ,
yearbook” is the aim that Editor j
Wilbur Bishop set for his 1942
Oregana last week as he com
pleted preliminary layouts for
his second term as head of the
All-American publication. The
new book is scheduled to be 20
percent larger than last year’s
Oregana, and will be 80 pages
larger than the present world’s
largest yearbook, the Annapolis
Lucky Bag.
New features slated for the
1942 publication include: I
1. Eight natural color pictures
with six four-page inserts.
2. Three new sections: Campus
Life, Women, and Men.
3. The complete volume done
in lithography, except for Lemon
Punch.
4. A natural-color cover, cover
ing both back and front.
5. More pictures than any
previous Oregana.
6. Modernization of the 1941
magazine style.
7. At least 90 more pages.
“According to a statement
from the National Scholastic
Press Association,” Bishop said,
“the proposed 1942 Oregana will
be equal to 140 pages more than
the University of California’s
1941 yearbook, 160 pages more
than Stanford's 1941 Quad, and
equal to 240 pages more than the
1941 Oregon State Beaver.”

Throughout the vacation
months the Federation has been
sending informative literature to
prospective students, showing
colored movies of undergraduate
activities on the campus, and
presenting programs and radio
talks throughout the state.
Undergraduates in towns and
cities throughout the state have
been appointed to handle per
sonal contacts with new students.
Meetings and Oregon dances fill
their summer slate. In Salem,
Oregon’s first undergraduate
class has been organized.
