Janet Morris Abandons'Machine’ Executive Candidate Bolted what she called a “political ma chine” last night and declared she was “running independently.” She is a candidate for a “big four” position on the ASUO ex ecutive committee. “I don’t want the student body to support me if they feel they are obligated to me because of any political tieups,” she declared. “If people vote for me, I want them to do it because they want me, not because they have to for any political reasons.” In Miss Morris’ declaration of independence, she said, “I do not want to take the number one votes away from anybody.” She emphasized that she was not throwing her support to any par ticular candidate for the number one position, but said that she, herself, was soliciting number two votes.
