Oregon Mothers To Be Honored With Serenade Terrace Dance Set as Feature Of Junior Weekend Plans have been completed, ac cording to Junior Weekend com mittee heads, to present the Uni versity concert band at "Sunlight Serenade,1’ a musical program for Oregon mothers to be held Satur day afternoon, May 11. The Ore gon concert band, in the opinion of Hex Underwood, director of the University symphony orchestra, is the best musical group of its kind on the Pacific Coast. Members of three committees have been appointed, John Cava nagh, promotion chairman, stated yesterday. Doris Ann Neely and Stan Staiger will prepare the pro gram for "Sunlight Serenade.” Marjorie McLean and Gleeson Payne are in charge of arrange ments for the terrace dance, to be held on the library terrace Satur day afternoon, May 11. This pro gram will be constructed s© as to reflect the enthusiasm and gaiety typical of Viennese life, Cavanagh said. The Junior weekend Traditions! committee is a new committee this year. Their job, Cavanagh stated, will be to inform the freshmen of their "duties” during the weekend, and to inform all organizations taking part in the activities dur ing the three days. The general idea will be to incorporate all the traditions that have become inte gral parts during 50 years of Junior Weekends into the 1940 pro gram.
