First spring term speaker will be i Robert Norton, associate editor of China Today, who will speak on some phase of Far Eastern and American relations. Norton was on the campus last term, speaking to the International Relations club and to various service clubs down town. Making his third appearance as a campus speaker, Kirby Page, au thor of a number of books on so cial problems, will speak April 5. Known as an outspoken opponent of war, Page will be on the cam pus for a two-day conference on war and peace on the 5 and 6. A newcomer to campus audi ences is Harry Elmer Barnes, the historian, educator, writer, and so ciologist. to speak April 9. Owners 878 Willamette Street Eugene Weekend Queen Selections to Be Due Wednesday Committee Makes Promotion Contacts During Vacation Junior Weekend committee heads announced last night that all wo men's houses must select their choices for queen of the weekend by Wednesday, March 27. A fac ulty-student committee will select the queen and the four members of the royal court, the committee said. May 10, 11, and 12 are the dates set aside for this year’s junior class presentation. With the passing of each year the weekend has been assuming greater proportions, and this year’s festivities will be no exception, Lloyd Sullivan, general chairman, asserted yesterday. Sul livan announced that this year’s program would include a pageant honoring queens of former Junior Weekends. Caravan Planned A caravan headed by this year’s queen will visit Portland during next month to promote the junior sponsored event, John Cavanagh, promotion chairman, said yester day. Spring vacation gave most. University of Oregon students an opportunity to catch up on some well-needed rest, but not so with the members of the weekend com mittee. Sullivan and Cavanagh spent the week in Portland making all possible connections with news papers and radio stations for week end promotion. The lady regent will represent the University in Portland at sev eral occasions planned in her honor by the committee. Tentative radio appearances are also possibilities, Cavanagh stated. Dr., Mrs. A. H. Ross Give New Zealand Material to Museum The museum of natural history has donated some New Zealand material by Dr. and Mrs. A. H. Ross, it was revealed by Dr. L. S. Cressman, head of the anthropol ogy department. The specimens, were obtained by Dr. Ross during j the years he practised medicine in j New Zealand. Included in the donation were j two fine carved clubs from the Polynesian Maori tribe. One of these is carved to represent a con ventional human face in profile. The eyes are inlaid with bits of sea shell. According to Dr. Cressman : it is almost impossible to secure clubs of this type at the present time. The New Zealand collection also I GET THERE ON TIME!
