New Award Announced For Mothers Attendance Here Junior Weekend A new Junior weekend award, the Zell Brothers’ trophy for the organization having the largest number of mothers attending the three day campus holiday, was announced yesterday by Willie Frager, general chairman of Junior weekend. ' The cup, a silver loving cup standing 20 inches high, will be awarded annually on a revolving basis, with the name of each year’s winner inscribed on the back. Based on Registration Awarding of the cup will be based on registration of mothers at Johnson hall during the two days of registration, Frager said. The trophy bears the official name of “Zell Bros. Junior Week end Trophy,” with the inscription reading “Awarded annually to the organization having largest moth ers’ attendance.” The new trophy is a result of a recent trip to Portland by Willie Frager, who contacted Zell Bros, regarding the cup. The cup will be on display at the College Side, Frager said. Oregon Delegates To PE Conference Receive Honors Returning last week from the national conference for health,! 'physical education, and recreation, Oregon’s three-man delegation ex pressed the belief that the Oregon PE curriculum is far in advance of most of the other colleges in the nation. • The delegation to the meeting j in Atlanta included Dean R. W. j Leighton, Prof. Paul R. Washke, j and Prof. Earl Boushey. Dr.! Leighton was the first to get backj from the conference, returning on Wednesday of last week, and Pro fessor Washke and Boushey later in the week. At the conference Professor Boushey was elected to the gov erning board of the association. I Professor Washke was made chair man of the men’s athletic section and secretary of the men’s physi cal education school’s section. Dr. .Leighton was appointed secretary of the research division. University of Miami officials j conducted a special tour of Cuba^ for students during the spring va cation. Paul Petri, Wife To Get Summer Tour in Europe Paul Petri, professor of music, and his wife, Lillian Petri, plan to leave on a European tour shortly after commencement, it was an nounced Tuesday by Mr. Petri. The Petris will drive in their car to New York and ship it to Rotter dam. Holland. Their tour will take them up the Rhine to Munich, into the Austrian Tyrol to Vienna and Salzburg where they will attend the operatic and symphonic perfor mances of the Salzburg festival.
