Furnish the Rhythm
For First Spring
Campus Dance
Sigma Delta Chi will bring Jack
Winston and his "honey from the
horn” music to the Oregon campus
for their innual informal dance
March 25.
Jack Winston, who has just fin
ished a record engagement at the
Bal Tabarin in San Francisco, is
one of the newest arrivals to the
set of top orchestras in the United
States.
The dance, which is scheduled for
the first Friday of next term, will
open the spring social season. Mc
Arthur court will don its new
drapes for the event, and Jack
Winston's "real southern swing,”
which shot into prominence during
the Texas Centennial in Dallas will
serve numbers with unusual ar
rangements and effects achieved
by Leader Winston.
Versatile Songstress
Penny Parker, starring with
Winston, is a striking blonde with
a Martha Raye style of singing.
She trucks and dances and leads
the band and has stopped show af
ter show wherever she has played,
reports said.
