School Radio Programs to Be Scheduled Woodrow Trtiax to Head Emerald-of-the-Air Broadcasts The Emerald of the Air has plans nearly completed for one of it’s best years as a part of the University news service. The new radio editor for this year will be Woodrow Truax, sophomore in business administration. Many new features are to be offered including a weekly broad cast of a dramatized campus scene, with Howard Kessler in charge. Other persons appearing on the staff are Bob Cathey, chief announcer; Patsy Neal, announcer and continuity writer. Other addi tions to the staff will be announced later, according to Truax. The time of the regular broad cast has not been determined as yet, but Monday’s broadcast will be held from 3:45 until 4:00 o'clock. The initial broadcast will include Ned Gee, who will sing several numbers accompanied by Chuck French at the piano. LAW SEMINAR OFFERED A law course which has never before been presented in the law school is being offered this year under the direction of Professor Charles G. Howard. The course is called a “seminar on Oregon law,” is optional, of the non-credit group, and open only to juniors and seniors in the school of law. The aim of the course is to bring about a better understanding of Oregon law through a thorough discussion of various cases at each meeting. Education has spread; we are becoming more cautious, more sophisticated each year. The great showmen of the present are learning that truth pays and that untruth will destroy every vestage of good will. The local showmen, Eugene’s business men, are forced to realize that you, the students of the Univer sity of Oregon, are their jury and that you have the power to vote them out of the college business. Student confidence must be maintained year after year if the merchant is to profit from the location of the University. To gain and hold a student’s confidence, the merchant must study and know better college trends and styles. He has to be more careful in his selection of corrert college requirements. The Associated Students publication, the Oregon Daily Emerald, purpose is not only to inform you of every day campus life, but also to protect you in obtaining a square deal with the Eugene merchants, and sincerely promises to do this by printing only truthful, reliable advertising copy.
