Sometimes we wish for things that strike our fancy at the mo ment and sometimes for things that signify the height of our am bition. Every individual has his own particular desires and wish es. Some want money, some fame, while others are satisfied witn smaller things. What would you want if you could have your one greatest wish come true ? That question has been answered by a number of Oregon coeds. J'Tone wished for a large sum of money, few desired fame, but each one questioned had a very definite idea of what she wanted. “There’s nothing I’d like better than to be transported at this very moment to the shores of Hawaii,” declared Roberta Moody. “That is the one place in the world where I’ve wanted to go. The only thing that I would like better would be to have been a boy, but since that is impossible, “I’ll take Hawaii.” We don’t know whether she has a secret sorrow who measures 6 ft. 4 or whether she is merely tired of being unable to see over people’s heads that makes ADELE SHEEHY wish for an additional neignt or two inches. At any rate that is her greatest desire at pres ent. MARY McCRACKEN aspires to more lofty things. Her greatest ambition is to learn how to walk up and down stairs on her hands. After that her next wish is to take a long boat trip by herself within the near future. Now that spring is at hand ANN REED BURNS has the de sire to be able to throw away all of her old clothes and get a com plete new wardrobe. Not a few girls join in with her in this de sire. MARTHA McCALL would yield to her hermit instinct, if she had her way, by purchasing a very lovely summer cottage on the edge of a lake where she could read and swim all day long and not be both ered by people. Perhaps Marjorie Will should join her there, so she could ride the "super-wonderful” horse, which she desires above all else. That she might begin college all over again would satisfy GAIL McCREDIE more than anything else that she knows of. NANCY ARCHBOLD, on the other hand, is evidently not quite so enthusiastic about going to school all her life, for she desires more leisure time above all else. Not a few girls gazed soulfully into space as they declared that their greatest desire in life at the present time is to find a man that they really could love. Several con fided that if they could actually have one wish granted they would want to be able to eat pastry, rolls, fattening thing that they must potatoes, candy bars, and every deny themselves now and not gain 8. single bit. The Broadway, be 30 East Broadway Questionnaire Returns Show Women Favorable Toward Campus Males Far from the noise and strife of our most recent sensation on the Oregon campus, the attack upon the “manner of man,” comes the echo of our efforts, all the way from California. The comment reads as follows: "There comes to me a startling shock in the form of quibbling, through the Emerald, over the respective qualities of male and female. I'm surprised. It is a very futile method. I know the Emerald will be sedate and ele vated about the method, but the results are useless.” The results of the questionnaire which was published on the wom en’s page last Friday are not use less, and will do much to suave the injured feelings of campus males. The Oregon women have rallied to their support, and while the num ber of questionnaires filled out was not large, they may be considered representative of female senti ment.
