Vodvil Practices
Discontinued for
Balance of Term
)iref*toratP, Advisors Agree*
To Postpone Work
Two Weeks
Junior Vodvil rehearsals will be
discontinued for the remainder of
the term, according to an an
nouncement from Omar "Slug”
Palmer, chairman-director of the
event last night. "Due to the fact
that the manuscript and plans for
the vodvil are incomplete, and that
it is so near the end of the term,
Palmer said, it was deemed advisa
ble to postpone work on tryouts
and rehearsals after exams.
At a meeting of the vodvil di
rectorate with the faculty advisers
last Saturday, it was generally
agreed that the junior class should
attempt to raise the standard of
previous vodvils, both to the form
of program, and the method of
presentation, ft was agreed thai
the program, if given at all, should
be a credit to both the junior class
and to the University.
“Bearing this in mind," Palmet
said, “the finished program must
be of interest to both students and
to outside patrons, and it must be
well presented, well acted, and in
every way, worthy of the class and
the school which arc it. , sponsors.
"At the beginning ot next term
work will begin in earnest, and we
expect each member of the direct
orate, the class, and the whole
University to give ns their sup
port and cooperation in the pro
duction of the new Junior Vodvil.”
An announcement from Garney
Miller, and McGowan Miller, who
are in charge of the manuscript
and skits, stated that a special
tryout for skits and acts would be
held at the beginning of next term
in order to enable those who have
ideas to work them out over the
vacation. It was pointed out that,
due to the non-continuity idea
which will be featured in this
year’s production, there would be
more opportunity for short skits
and acts, than has been the case
heretofore.

mer announced.

What the NEW

COMPARE a package of Camels with
any other cigarette and note the
difference in the technique of packing.
INote that Camels are completely en
closed in an outer transparent cover of
moisture-proof cellophane and sealed
air-tight at every point.
W e call this outer shell the Humidor
Pack. It differs from the ordinary cello
phane pack and while it is egg-shell
thin, it means a lot in terms of cigarette
enjoyment.
It means, for instance, that evapora
tion is checkmated and that Salt

The Humidor Park insures that. It
prevents the fine tobaccos of Camels
from drying out and losing any of their
delightful flavor.
Aside from cheap tobacco, two fac
tors in a cigarette can mar the smoker’s
pleasure:
Fine particles of peppery dust if left
in the tobacco by inefficient cleaning
methods sting and irritate delicate
throat membrane.
Dry tobacco, robbed of its natural
moisture by scorching or by evapora
tion gives off a hot smoke that burns
the throat ivith
every inhalation.

this quality, that these eigarettes come
to you with their uatural moisture
content still intact.
Check the difference yourself
It is a very simple matter to check the
difference between Humidor Packed
Camels and other ordinary dry cigarettes.
First of all you can feel the difference
as you roll the cigarettes between your vl
fingers. Camels are full-bodied and
pliable. A dry cigarette crumbles under
pressure and sheds tobacco.
If you will hold a cigarette to each ear
and roll them with your fingers you can
actually hear the difference.
The real test of course is to smoke them.
And here’s where the new Humidor Pack
proves a real blessing to the smoker.
As you inhale the cool, fragrant smoke
from a Camel you get all the mildness
and magic of the fine tobaccos of which
it is blended.
But when you draw in the hot smoke
from a dried cigarette see how flat and
brackish it is by comparison and how
harsh it is to your throat. ■{
If you are a regular Camel smoker
you have already noticed what proper
condition of the cigarette means.
But if you haven’t tried Camels in
the new Humidor Pack you have a new
adventure with Lady Nicotine in store.
Switch your affections for just one
day, then go back to your old love
tomorrow if you can.
